/ Moving data files from Vista to Vista |
Step 1 -Plug the cable into the PC onto your
��new�� and ��old�� computer.On the Vista, it may
ask a security question on the launch of the
built-in application. Click on ��Continue�� to go
on to the next step. |
Step 2 �V Windows Easy Transfer TM
will launch and display the introduction of the
process
 |
Step 3 �V During transfer, other applications can
not be used |

Step 4 �V Computer selection, indicate this
computer as the ��New�� computer or the��Old��
computer. |

On
the ��new�� computer, click on ��This is my new
computer�� to go on to the next step. |
On
the ��old�� computer, click on ��This is my old
computer�� to go on to the next step. |
Step 5 �V Select what you want to move on the
��old�� computer.You will have the option to move
all your data and settings automatically �V all
accounts or single account or you have the
option of moving manually (custom) |
Step 6 �V Under custom selection �V we have finer
control of what information will be moved.
Change the folders you wish to move by
un-checking the boxes. |
Step 7 �V Select the new account name that will
appear on the ��new�� computer. This means the
data from the ��old�� computer will be placed
under the new account name. In this example, the
data under ��Peter�� on the ��old�� computer will be
moved to the account name of ��Peter Copy�� on the
��new�� computer. Type in the new account �V ��Peter
Copy��

Step 8 �V Data mapping on the drives can be
changed as well. Example: a link to a file that
is located on ��D�� drive on your ��old�� computer
can be mapped to another drive on the ��new��
computer.

Step 9 �V The transfer will start and a progress
bar will indicate how the transfer is
progressing. Upon task completion, the screen
will automatically go on to the next step.

Step 10 �V The transfer is now
complete. The data under the ��old�� computer
should appear on the ��new�� computer and under
the new account. Click on ��Close�� to exit. |

Vista Easy Transfer
Cable
Description
The USB Easy Transfer Cable will assist in
the migration from Microsoft XP or Vista systems
to Microsoft Vista systems. Both driver and
software will be provided by Microsoft and will
not be vendor specific.
The cable will be a Plug-n-Play with
Microsoft tested software. The simple to use
built-in application will minimize user call
support and adds value to the system integrator.
All setup and selection has been minimized,
offering the user a simple migration when used
on a newly purchased system.
Microsoft to release driver/software upgrades
to add additional functions for the cable thru
their Windows Update.
